7 days of immersion on a sailboat in the heart of the Arctic fjords, encountering orcas and whales
Every autumn and winter, orcas, humpback whales, and fin whales gather in the fjords of northern Norway, drawn by the abundance of herring.
This is the perfect time to watch them share a feast ; the spectacle is unique and breathtaking.
The winter light makes the scene even more sublime : the sky is pink, the sun gliding behind the snow-covered peaks that surround the fjords.
As darkness settles over the Arctic, an other spectacle begins.....

A week to discover Orcas and Whales...and contribute to their protection
And what better way to experience it all than abroad a sailboat?!
SAILING
Your adventure will begin on the sailboat moored in Tromsø.
Your qualified skipper will introduce you to sailing and navigation on board.
Beginner - you will learn and become a sailor.
Experienced - you will have more responsibilities and challenges.
ORCAS AND WHALES
Heading north in search of orcas and whales. Olivia, your naturalist guide, will introduce you to the fascinating world of cetaceans.
You will also be involved in their protection by collecting essential data, such as identification photos, thus contributing to the preservation of these magnificent creatures.
Life in the fjords...
During our stops, you will explore small villages, enjoy local restaurants and bars, and also relax in a Jacuzzi.
As night falls, you will hunt for the Northern Lights. Your guides will be there to help you with your camera settings.
Itinerary & Activities
Day 1 — Tromsø
Meet at 4 PM at the port of Tromsø. We set sail and head north, navigating between islands, fjords and remote villages.
Orcas & Whales
We’ll reach the areas frequented by cetaceans to observe them in their natural environment.
Wild Nights
Depending on the conditions, we’ll anchor in sheltered bays or stay in port. At night, we’ll look for the Northern Lights and listen to whales using a hydrophone. And why not enjoy an evening in a local bar or relax in the jacuzzi?
Learning & Citizen Science
You’ll learn the basics of sailing and take part in citizen science activities, including photo-identification of whales and learning to recognize their vocalizations. Evening talks will offer the opportunity to learn more about orcas, whales, cetaceans and the Arctic ecosystem.
Back to Tromsø
We’ll then sail back towards Tromsø, passing through the majestic Lyngen Alps.
Final Day — Departure
In the morning, we’ll pack our belongings together and leave the boat at 10 AM.
